Pixie Cottage Challenge 16 - flowers and a sketch!

It's Once Upon Wednesday time and it's time for another fabulous Guest Sketcher!
This week we are very excited to have with us Jacque from Jacques Magnolia's!!!

This week I used Baby Blake by Lisa Schmidt. This adorable baby just melted my heart. Isn't he the cutest and I just fell in love with the sentiment.

Skipping Stones Sketch challenge 21 and P.M.S

Welcome to this weeks Skipping Stones Challenge. This week we are featuring our last sketch from the very talented Kim Crawford and a P.M.S sale.

I decided to challenge make my card clean and bright. I didn't use a scrap of patterned paper, that is a first I think!
I also used a fun technique that I picked up at Kim Teasdale's sponged backgrounds class. I am learning so much!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge 20!


It's time for another Tuesday challenge and our sketch artist over at Skipping Stones Design, Kim Crawford has this fun sketch for the week:
Let me tell ya, this was WAY out of my comfort zone. I have never made a shaped card before and struggled with a couple of ideas. I ultimately decided on making this flower card and using the beautiful new "Whispering Wings" stamp set.
I stamped the heart design using a TH distress ink pad. I stamped it 2x on scrap paper and then onto my finished piece to make it appear to be in the background. I then stamped my sentiment and embossed.

Once Upon a Wednesday...Buttons and Guest Sketch


It's Once Upon Wednesday time and for the second week in a row we have news for you!

This week I chose to use the beautiful "Simply the Best" stamp by the fabulous arTish! I love this rose, it has so many beautiful petals and was a blast to color.
I used Tombow markers and an Aqua Painter to color the rose. The paper is K&Company and Bazzil cardstock. I finally had the chance to use some of the Prima ribbon I bought at Michelles Scrapbooking and more!

New Pixie Cottage Challenge and challenge news!

Welcome to the New and Improved Pixie Cottage Challenge.

We will be holding our challenges EVERY week starting today!
In addition to more chances to win great prizes from Michelles Scrapbooking and More, we have made it even easier to participate. Each week we will have a sketch and/or a theme. It is your choice to use the theme of the week or the sketch or both!
This week we have a sketch and a theme.


The theme is Wet or Dry embossing.

My card this week features one of Lisa Schmidts GIRLS OF THE WORLD line. Lisa started out with a Dutch girl Janneke, a Scottish girl Maggie, and, the image I used, a sweet little girl from Ireland, Cassidy. I am really hoping that Lisa sketches many more of these little cuties!
I wet embossed my image and then paper pieced and watercolored. My background is sponged with Distress inks.

Skipping Stones Sketch Tuesday and Sneak Peek!

Wow, spring break is over and boy did it go by fast! Welcome to the first Sketch Tuesday in April. This month we have an amazingly talented sketch artist, Kimberly Crawford. Kimberly has created some beautiful sketches to play with this month. Here is the sketch for this weeks challenge.

Spring is in the air at the Pixie Cottage!

Today at the Pixie Cottage we are celebrating Spring with another Pixie Cottage Showcase! Make sure to take a peek at all of the DT's cards because there are some adorable new stamps being introduced.
My card today features two pixie cottage stamps. I used the beautiful "Stump&Bench" stamp by the uber talented Sandra Hammer, to create the background. I then cut out Alisa from the adorable "Alisa in Wonderland" stamp by the fabulous Alisa Ramirez. Doesn't she look so cute sitting on the bench!? I got this idea from a fabulous tutorial that our very own Pixie DT member Renata did. You can check out that tutorial here.
I colored my images with Distress inks, Tombow Markers and an aquapainter.

New Pixie Cottage Challenge + New DT Announcement!


Welcome to a new Pixie Cottage Challenge! This weeks challenge is Circles! Just make sure your card uses circles and post your link. There are wonderful prizes to be won from Michelles Scrapbook store.
My card this weeks features this adorable image by Eileen Gutierrez called "Sweet Molly"
This image was so much fun to color! I used my favorite Distress inks and an aquapainter then popped her up with dimensionals for a 3-D effect. My papers are K&Company and Bazzil cardstock. I used lots of stickles and sugared brads for sparkle!

Sketch Tuesday at Skipping Stones and a Blog Candy Winner!

Wow, it has been such a busy week for me and I couldn't believe that it was time for another sketch Tuesday! We are still celebrating the release of the new Chick Chat set at Skipping Stones. I love these little guys and there are so many fantastic sentiments that the uses are endless! Our sketch artist of the month Jami Bova has created another fun sketch this week! I haven't used corners like this in a long time and I had forgotten how much fun they are.
