New sketch challenge at Skipping Stones Design!

Happy Tuesday everyone, we are one day closer to the weekend! This month at Skipping Stones Design we welcome a new sketch designer, Belinda from Bleu Bella Designs. Belindas sketch this week is so much fun, but I have to admit it had me staring at my papers for a very LONG time! I finally decided on a very simple card that made the image pop.
My image is from the new Buns-N-Crunches set. This set is so wonderful and has some really hilarious sentiments. You can check out the rest of the set HERE.
I used DCWV cardstock and DP for my card and watercolored my image with distress inks (my new fave thing!) I popped the frosting with dimensionals and then popped the cherry a bit more. A pretty satin ribbon and some Madeira rayon thread are my only embellishments. The sentiment is on one of my favorite spellbinders dies, fancy tags.

The Pixie Cottage Saturday Showcase

Look at that adorable image from arTish, called Qpid! This is just one of many adorable new releases at The Pixie Cottage. The Pixie artists have been working hard and today we unveil their new works, they are all fabulous. You can check out all the new stamps HERE.
I was running short on time so this is a quick card, well at least quick for me. I stamped the image on watercolor paper and colored her with my distress inks. A couple of spellbinders dies, some satin ribbon and prima flowers and voila! A finished card in an hour. That is a record for me I think!

Hearts galore at the Pixie Cottage and BLOG CANDY!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch Tuesday!

Welcome to the 8th Skipping Stones Sketch Challenge. I am so excited to share some beautiful new stamps from SSD. I got these in the mail and just loved them all. This is truly a beautiful set full of possibilities. I used 7 stamps from this gorgeous set and didn't even touch half of them....have to have em yet?
Amy Sheffer at Pickled Paper Designs has provided another fabulous sketch for us this week. Her flare for design never fails to amaze me. If you have never seen Amy's work, you must run and check out her blog.

My card this week features a brand new stamp set that I just love (have I mentioned that?)
I used Nestabilities for my circles, scalloped circle and fancy tags. My paper is all K&Company and the cardstock is Bazzil.
I popped up the bird and butterflies with dimensionals and used some Basic Grey pearls for added flare. Of course there is a whole lotta sparkle :)

Pixie Cottage Challenge!

Welcome to the first Pixie Cottage Challenge of 2010! This week our very own Pixie Renata created a sketch for us to use. I loved this sketch and have used something like it in the past. It looks so detailed and yet is so easy to create. I really hope you will play along with us this week.
For todays Wish upon a Wednesday challenge I used the gorgeous Alisa Ramirez Image "Ballerina Fairy Taking a Ride". I just love the caterpillar, his cute chubbiness makes me giggle.
I painted my image with distress inks and popped the fairys head for added dimension. Her wings are covered in diamond Stickles for lots of sparkle!
The DP is K&Company and the Cardstock is Bazzil swiss dots.

Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge 7

Here we are again...it's Tuesday! Skipping Stones Designs has a wonderful sketch for us this week. The sketch is from the creative genius of Amy Sheffer at Pickled Paper Designs. I love this sketch, it is simple, elegant and full of possibilities :)
For todays sketch I chose the "Healing Wings" set from Skipping Stones designs. I just love this set because it is so versatile. The set includes sentiments, two full butterflies and one side view.
For this card I used the side view. I adore the sentiment "Friends give color to our lives". It is very true and gave me inspiration for the card.
I used very muted background papers and cream rayon thread in the stitching. The only color on the card is the butterfly. I used Tim Holtz distress inks in Broken China, Worn Lipstick and Peeled Paint to add life to the butterfly. I love the way it pops from the page just like your favorite friend!

Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge #6 and COMMENT CANDY!

Today we have another fun sketch challenge from Skipping Stones Design. This month we are lucky enough to have sketches from the amazingly talented Amy Sheffer. For the challenge this week I used the Funny Bras volume 2 set. This set is so wonderful, there are many, many cheeky sentiments!
For my card, I used Bohemia papers by My Minds Eye. I layered this with core'dinations cardstock and distressed the edges. The image is colored using distress ink and an aquapainter.
I can't wait to see what you come up with!
